Reflexology

Reflexology is a form of natural healing based on the idea that the foot (or hand or ear) is a reflection of the whole body and can, therefore, be used as a mechanism for promoting wellness.  There are reflex areas covering all parts of the foot which relate to specific areas and organs of the body.  This connection is achieved through the same meridian system on which other health systems, such as acupuncture, are based.  In reflexology this is generally called zone therapy.  This form of treatment tends to have limited discomfort during a treatment, and is less intrusive as it is concentrated on the lower limbs and feet.  As well as having a positive result throughout the body, there is the added benefit of improved foot health.  Our way of living tends to lead to many tired and stressed feet.

My form of reflexology treatment combines the ideas from the ‘Ingham Method’ (the original form of reflexology), reflexognosy, acupressure, aromatherapy and hydrotherapy.  I would recommend a 60 minute treatment which begins with a soothing reflexology foot bath, using a specifically designed aromatherapy blend.  This is followed by an extensive treatment session carried out while you lay back and relax.  During the treatment I cover all areas of both feet, extending up on to the lower legs.  Each treatment is personalised to your individual health and wellness needs.

It is important to note that the initial treatment lasts for 75 minutes to allow time for a full assessment of your feet.

I also offer a ‘speed’ reflexology session lasting 30 minutes.  This is generally aimed at being a quick ‘pick-me-up’ and does not allow time to focus on specific needs. However, your feet will feel refreshed and relaxed and so will you!

I also have available a special pamper package.  This is ideal as a gift or just to pamper you.  This package lasts for 90 minutes and combines foot and hand treatments using all of the combinations mentioned above.
